Its 3.30pm now and I'm so damn sleepy..feeling like taking a 15min nap lah dalam meeting room. 10mins pun jadi lah ;) Btw, do you know the benefits of napping??? Here you go:
Our bodies are naturally inclined to feel a little sleepy in the early to middle hours of the afternoon. This is particularly so if we eat a large meal at lunchtime. Afternoon napping – 15 to 30 minutes – is a wonderful way to restore a flagging body.
Afternoon naps tend to be rich in the most restful phase of sleep, making it the most effective tool for catching up on lost slumber. A short 15 to 30 minute nap in the afternoon can often leave you more rested than the same amount of time tacked on to your morning sleep.
Napping isn’t always feasible. But try to grab a cat-nap whenever you can, even if only on weekends. When you nap it is possible to feel grogy for 5 to 15 minutes afterwards. This is normal and part of a phenomena known as sleep inertia. Sleep inertia occurs after both daytime and night-time sleep; the deeper the sleep; the more pronounced the effects.
Most researchers agree with what nappers already know – that the temporary inconvenience of sleep inertial is more than made up fro by improved alertness and a buoyant mood later in the day.
Afternoon naps are also a great avenue for getting into a dream state – whether it be a true dream or a creative day dream in which you can visualise positive things in your life.
